KBR Building Group Has Record Year for Number of Projects Recognized for Construction Excellence in Prestigious Industry Awards Competitions
KBR Building Group had a banner year for award-winning projects in 2012. In the 4th Quarter alone, our teams were recognized for construction excellence on eight different projects, winning a total of 12 awards in high-profile industry awards competitions.
In the Best of 2012 Awards program sponsored by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southeast, three KBR Building Group projects were named “Best Project of the Year” in their respective categories, and another project received the Award of Merit. Our project or The Boeing Company in South Carolina went on to win ENR's National "Best of the Best" award for Industrial | Manufacturing.
In the 2012 Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) “Excellence in Construction” (EIC) Awards program, KBR Building Group projects were recognized at the highest level by three regional ABC chapters — Alabama, Carolinas and Delaware. In total, our group was the proud recipient of 6 Eagle Awards (ABC’s top award) and one Award of Merit. Further, Duke Medicine's Duke Cancer Center project was nominated as a finalist for the Carolinas “Project of the Year" and the DuPont office project (Building 730) received Delaware's inaugural "Sustainable Design Green Award." Each of our seven regional entries qualified for entry in ABC’s national competition for which winners will be announced in February 2013.
