Green Roofs and Roof Gardens

A special feature of the new Duke Cancer Center is the 8,100 sf green roof space complete with a 4,400 sf roof garden. The green roof is constructed of a grass Xero Flor Sedum mat that is viewable from hundreds of patient rooms. The attractive roof garden is open to patients and staff. Everyone will be able to enjoy the garden and rest on the beautiful wooden benches surrounding the perimeter alongside an outdoor infusion suite, allowing patients to receive treatments in a peaceful setting.
